Piazza del Campo

Here at Dante Alighieri Siena in our Study Abroad Program students are encouraged to fully take advantage of their stay in Italy.

Learn Italian not only in the classroom but through your everyday life in Siena. Our on-site lectures, academic excursions, visits to museums, field trips, hands-on cooking classes and internships will surely broaden your learning experience.

Culture courses and seminars are taught in English so you can fully understand subjects we cover such as: Anthropology, Art history and Architecture, Economy,  Health and Nutrition, Italian History, Literature, Performing Arts.

In our in-house gastronomy department students learn to prepare and enjoy delicious Italian dishes while learning the culture and history behind each meal.

Siena
Nestled among the rolling hills of Tuscany, more than 55,000 Sienese call this medieval gem-of-a-city home. It’s a place better suited for the traveler than the tourist. An interactive experience offering more than mere bricks and mortar. A unique blend of rich history and modern-day culture that permeates the sights, sounds and smells of everyday life.
A living, breathing museum with unprecedented access. Open to the public 24/7, 365 days a year.
For those who truly aspire to live as the Italians do, Dante Alighieri, Siena welcomes you with open arms to il mondo in Italiano.

Siena

About us
Since 1990, DA Siena has been at the vanguard of study abroad programming. Our highly motivated instructors specialize in teaching Italian as a second language and are committed to exceeding expectations on a daily basis.
Students will benefit immensely from their full-immersion teaching style, a concept we here at DA Siena believe extends far beyond the classroom walls.
In addition to learning fundamental speaking, reading, writing and listening comprehension skills, students have the opportunity to enroll in one of our multifaceted culture courses. Topics covered include: Art and Architecture, Anthropology, Gastronomy, Literature, Performing Arts, etc.
Many of these sessions occur on-site, featuring faculty-led tours (in English) of historical landmarks and local establishments. DA Siena also offers a variety of after-hours social activities for students to embark on.
Wine tasting in the nearby countryside, Italian cinema under the stars or an insider’s tour of the nearby hangouts, to name a few. Not only do these excursions supplement said curriculum, they allow for close-knit bonding among fellow travelers.
A venue for sharing once-in-a-lifetime experiences with newfound friends. Memories guaranteed to last a lifetime...and then some.
