Program Overview

Your January in Sydney program lasts 3 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in one CIEE course taught at CIEE Sydney. Enhance your experience with extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Australian culture. Live and learn in Sydney!

Housing

Students in Sydney will live across a variety of housing locations. Housing options are mostly twin rooms with some single and triple rooms. Students will share a kitchen and other facilities with others. Housing locations are all conveniently located near shops, cafes, and public transport within the city area and are within a commute of around 30 minutes to classes in Surry Hills, Sydney.?

Activities

CIEE's excursions and cultural activities in Sydney will open doors for you to explore Australia's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Hike the spectacular Blue Mountains with experienced and informed guides ready to share the environmental and cultural history of the spectacular landscape
  • Learn about Sydney's beach lifestyle while enjoying an Aussie BBQ at locations like Bondi Beach, Coogee Beach, and Shelly Beach
  • Visit Sydney's museums to experience art and culture at iconic spots like the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art

GAIN Travel Grants - Up to $1,500 toward travel costs guaranteed to students with a FAFSA SAI of $10,000 or less. Higher should still apply!

Gilman Go Global Grants - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $1,000 guaranteed to Benjamin A Gilman International Scholarship applicants.

Merit-Based Scholarships - Up to $2,500/semester, $1,500/quarter, and $750/summer awarded to students deomonstrating high academic achievement.
